We first talked about it in November, and here it is: on the last Sunday of January we ran a short notice trial dinner for our first Clapton Pot. We limited it to a small group, so we could test our skills together in the kitchen, and revise our process. Our willing guinea pigs were Rory my flatmate, chef Adrian, who’s also Diana’s partner, and very kindly gave us lots of encouraging feedback, and Rino, who came all the way from Maida Vale.
On the menu:
– Miso soup, tofu and Clapton Pond algae
– Sweet potato and sage gratin, with falafel and a splash of spinach
– Ridley Road Double Decker: summer fruit compote & mango sorbet – handy for the recent heatwave…
(We’re joking about the Pond algae. It was seaweed)
Sadly no-one thought of taking any pictures, so hopefully we’ll remember next time. We’re hoping our guests can help (isn’t everyone photographing their dinner these days?)
We’ll post an invite soon for our next dinner – do sign up for February’s Clapton Pot then!
